Services & Facilities

The staff will make beds, clean bedrooms and bathrooms and provide a turn down service in the evening. The living areas, garden and pool are also cleaned and tidied daily. There is a laundry room and drying area. The staff can do washing and ironing for you free of charge.

Our cook prepares breakfast which is included in the villa rental. We always have tropical fruits, Sri Lankan curd with kitul treacle, toast, and of course Sri Lankan tea and coffee. You can choose between a cooked breakfast with pancakes, eggs and trimmings, or a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast.

Lunch and dinner can also be made for you. Do try the traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry meal which can be made more or less spicy to suit your taste. The cook can also prepare non-Sri Lankan meals. He will discuss daily what you would like to eat and when. You just need to pay for the cost of the ingredients plus a small cooking fee. He can also prepare Sri Lankan snacks, or “bites”, such as devilled or hot butter cuttlefish, cashews fried with curry leaves, and fish or vegetable cutlets.

Filtered, purified, safe drinking water is provided free at the villa. We want to reduce plastic waste by avoiding buying water in single-use, throw-away bottles. We have plenty of water jugs, glass, and non-breakable water bottles for your use.

We have two kitchens at Villa Abiman. A “wet kitchen” where staff prepare your meals, and an open plan kitchen and bar counter for guest use. Here you can make snacks, fix drinks or cook for yourself if you so wish. Our staff will be happy to shop or advise you where to buy fish, seafood and other ingredients and will gladly show you how to make local dishes.
